Meipo: Meipo Martin started practicing Aikido in 1991 under the late Rocky Izumi Sensei, and then followed the tutelage of the late Kenneth Cottier Shihan in Hong Kong until she relocated to the US. She has been a student of Clyde Takeguchi Shihan since 1999. Meipo has a Rokudan (6th degree black belt) in Aikido and is a USAF Shidoin. She is one of the instructors at Capitol Hill Aikikai in Washington, DC, dedicated to teaching a strong yet gentle, compassionate version of the art.
